Discover the essence of water in an evening of harmonic versatility by the musicians of Lumiatra. Hear water pieces in a variety of languages, from the Renaissance polyphony of Monteverdi's Ecco Mormorar L'onde to the Romantic-era harmonies of Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Auf Dem See to the Brazilian folk song O Sapo. Then, let more modern tides of music sweep you away with its waves of melodic cohesion and passion, with songs including the contemporary classical clusters of Whitacre's Water Night, the jazz stylings of Dearie and Albert-King's Inside a Silent Tear, and the lamenting of Mouquet and Groban's Remember When It Rained. In addition, join us for the world premiere of Composer-in-Residence Zeke Fetrow's Parce Domine. Finish the evening in Portland's splendid Temple Baptist Church with a stirring number from the world of Jason Robert Brown.
