Auditions

Beati seeks singers of all voice parts for its concert seasons, which features both solely organizational performances and artistic collaborations in a wide variety of venues.

Because the organization emphasizes ensemble sound, a soloistic voice is not required. However, an excellent sense of pitch, good vocal technique, and the ability to blend well within a small ensemble are all important. Dedication, passion, loyalty, and the desire to work hard are highly valued qualities, and being versatile in regards to vocal styles is highly desired in every Beati singer. Also, valuing the ensemble concept over solo aspirations is necessary to be successful in the organization.

While specific audition dates are held before the concert year, auditions are currently done by appointment only, and are scheduled by the director on a case-by-case basis. Please include your voice part, phone number, and a brief synopsis of your vocal music history.

Audition Preparation

Please arrive at the given location on time, warmed-up, and ready to sing.
Your 20-minute audition includes:

    • vocalises to assess range, tone, etcetera
    • melodic and rhythmic sight-reading
    • tonal memory
    • singing the first verse of America the Beautiful a cappella (text will be provided, if needed)
